"If I have seen further, it is by standing upon the shoulders of giants" - Sir Isaac Newton.
It is truly remarkable how all 1,253 oculofacial plastic surgeons who have ever had a fellowship training in America can trace their lineage to four original giants in the field. I came off the United Kingdom/Moorfields branch via Dr. Jack Rootman and Dr. Jennifer Sivak-Callcott. However, I have had the privilege of having many mentors under whom I have trained. Therefore, in effect, I have also been trained by Crowell Beard, Allston Callahan, Byron Smith, and Wendell Hughes.
This is great work by Dr. Cameron Nabavi and Dr. Jeremiah Tao. I am incredibly proud to be part of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (#asoprs) and the talented cohort of surgeons who paved the way for us all.
